Wooli to Red Rock walking track
Guide updated · verify open/closed status on NSW National Parks
Official hardest coastal-walk block: 15.5 km one-way, Grade 5, 5 hrs 30 min–6 hrs 30 min. Wooli boat, Station Creek wade, Pebbly country, and no commercial boat at Corindi / Red Rock.
Do not pair: Do not pair Wooli–Red Rock with a Wilsons Headland “warm-up” from a Coffs morning start. Finish at Wooli if Corindi is unsafe — that is success.
Turnaround: If the last river cannot be crossed, extract at Wooli or Station Creek. Do not improvise a Corindi swim. Incoming tide is the official safer window for the boat you actually booked.
- Starting without a Wooli boat, then treating the river as a swim.
- Leaving a 2WD at Pebbly because “the walk goes past it,” then discovering high-clearance + low-tide access.
- Grade 5 · most remote segment
- 5 hrs 30 min – 6 hrs 30 min
- 15.5 km one-way
- Effort: hard
- Best for: Experienced walkers finishing the coastal walk
Distance, grade, time, boat contacts and open/closed status change — verify on NSW National Parks before you go.

Where you start
Wooli
Do not start this segment without a Wooli boat booking and a finish plan that includes stopping at Wooli if the last river cannot be crossed.
How to get there
- Wooli village. Support vehicle via Station Creek Road or Red Rock village.
How to do it (step by step)
- Boat the Wooli River on an incoming tide.
- Carry extra food and drinking water. Station Creek is not on the park-wide water list. Pebbly’s own campground page lists taps — pack a full backup anyway.
- If Corindi / Red Rock cannot be crossed safely, do not improvise a swim. Finish or extract earlier.
Why this is Grade 5
Official: 15.5 km one-way, Grade 5, 5 hrs 30 min–6 hrs 30 min. Rock platforms, a Wooli boat, a tidal Station Creek wade, and no commercial boat at Corindi / Red Rock. The full coastal walk is still Grade 4; this block is harder than the average day.
Do not start without a Wooli boat booking and a written finish plan that includes stopping at Wooli if the last river cannot be crossed.
Two crossings, one commercial
Wooli: 0439 409 909 (official walk page and river-crossing alert). Incoming tide. Red Rock / Corindi: arrange your own boat or finish at Wooli. Official Pebbly tide chart is Red Rock.
Southern water
Station Creek is not on the park-wide drinking-water list. Pebbly’s campground page lists taps — pack a full backup. Toilets at Pebbly and Red Rock on the official walk notes.
