Where to stay near Yuraygir

Prioritise official NSW National Parks camping when that product fits — mornings become walks, not long drives between zones. Vehicle day entry is still required on top of camping if you drive in. Annual passes do not cover camping. When you want a commercial bed, pick the village that matches your zone: Yamba / Angourie north, Minnie Water / Wooli central, Red Rock / Coffs Harbour south.

Official park camping: NSW National Parks — Yuraygir campgrounds. Book only there.

Some stay, tour and gear links may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Park fees, official NSW National Parks camping bookings and fishing licences are never affiliated.

Official camping only

Lake Arragan and Red Cliff (89 sites; Grey Cliff is part of this complex, not a separate booking), Sandon River, Illaroo (incl. group), Boorkoom, Rocky Point, Shelley Head (walk-in), Station Creek, and Pebbly Beach (Yuraygir — 4WD / low-tide; check-in 2pm / out 10am). Park-wide visitor-info lists drinking water only at Illaroo and Lake Arragan / Red Cliff. Pebbly’s own campground page also lists taps — pack a backup either way. Self-sufficiency required. Fees are a separate system from the $8 vehicle day entry.

Fuel, food, medical — pick the town that matches the zone

Headlands are not service centres. Match the last town to your intent. Hours change — orientation only, no invented prices. Emergencies: 000. Official camping stays on NSW National Parks.

Families

Yamba for northern picnic days; Wooli / Minnie Water for Wilsons mornings; Coffs Harbour if the kids need a wet-weather bed after a southern attempt. Village caravan parks are commercial, not park-managed.

Early starts

Sleep in the zone you will walk. A Coffs bed does not make Pebbly plus Wilsons a dawn plan. Fill fuel the night before in Yamba, Grafton, Wooli or Coffs.

Closest to the icon

Angourie / Yamba → walk start and Lake Arragan. Wooli → Wilsons Headland and the Wooli boat. Station Creek (2WD-typical) or Pebbly (4WD + tide) → Coffs / Corindi. Grafton is the NPWS office town.

Medical & official camping

Regional hospitals: Grafton and Coffs. Park camping is official-only (never affiliated). Vehicle entry is still due if you drive in. More on Plan your visit · services.
