Where you start

Illaroo or Boorkoom

Start from a booked central camp. Finish Wooli village for food and the next day’s boat.

How to get there

  1. Wooli / Minnie Water turn-off from the Pacific Highway south of Grafton.

How to do it (step by step)

  1. Optional sit-down on Wilsons Headland platforms.
  2. Book Wooli River Boat Hire if you continue south the next morning.

Who this segment is for

Official: 14 km one-way, Grade 4, 4 hrs 30 min–5 hrs 30 min. A clean village finish at Wooli if you have two cars or a booked night.

Wilsons Headland (3 km Grade 3) sits in the middle as a sit-down if you start at Boorkoom or the picnic area. That is a different product from walking the full 14 km.

Wooli as a reset

Book Wooli River Boat Hire (0439 409 909 — [VERIFY]) if you continue south the next morning. Incoming tide. If you are ending the multi-day here because Corindi looks unsafe, that is a completed trip.

Water between camps

Illaroo lists drinking water. Boorkoom and Rocky Point do not appear on the park-wide water list. Carry enough for the day even if you started at a tap.

Extra tips

  • Wooli is the smartest mid-walk reset.

Often paired with Wilsons Headland— only if energy and weather allow.
